This concept is in response to a blog request. The idea is that it serves as a hub for a shop, allowing for a coffee pot and/or a small microwave on top, then room in the drawers for various things, as well as storage underneath.

I was recently asked about a solution for a small workshop including a concept like this wall-mounted work table. Unlike many I’ve seen, this one includes four legs instead of two. I would of course add a lot more structural support to the legs and probably would add rails to that the front set and back set were each one assembly. I also feel that some sort of storage is needed underneath the top (perhaps with doors), so that would be added as well.

The Chief’s Shop Assembly Bench would add a large (roughly 4 x 6) work surface to your shop. It’s a bit lower than a workbench to allow you to assemble projects (hence the name) in relative comfort. A table saw/circular saw, miter saw, jigsaw, drill driver, and Kreg Jig are needed to complete it.

The Chief’s Shop Basic Workbench is a solid all-purpose bench. It’s nothing fancy, but it’ll add some room for your small projects, plus a bit of storage on the bottom shelf. A miter saw, circular saw with a straightedge guide, such as the Kreg Rip-Cut, a jig saw, drill/driver, and Kreg pocket hole jig are all you need to build it.
