Plan of the Week: Assembly Bench

The Chief’s Shop Assembly Bench would add a large (roughly 4 x 6) work surface to your shop. It’s a bit lower than a workbench to allow you to assemble projects (hence the name) in relative comfort. A table saw/circular saw, miter saw, jigsaw, drill driver, and Kreg Jig are needed to complete it.

Plan of the Week: Reading Bench

The Chief’s Shop Reading Bench project is perfect for a little nook that needs a little “something”, a study, or a child’s room. It can seat two, or one person with legs stretched out. The shelf on the end can be used to store magazines, books, etc.

My usual tool suspects are needed to complete it – table saw, miter saw, jig saw, drill driver, and Kreg Jig.

Plan of the Week: Entry Storage Bench

The Chief’s Shop Entry Storage Bench is perfect for this time of year, as kids are headed back to school and need a little spot to toss their bags and random things after school. This requires my usual project tool list (table saw/circular saw, miter saw, jig saw, Kreg Jig), but you’ll either need a straightedge guide (for a circular saw), such as the Kreg Rip-Cut, or my Crosscut Sled (for a table saw).

Sketch of the Day: Study Bench with Back

A variation of the study bench from last week. I added the back after I heard some concern about how the first design would affect posture.

Plan of the Week: Picnic Bench

The Chief’s Shop Picnic Bench provides a large and sturdy seating option for any outdoor space. Make a couple to use with a large outdoor table for parties or family dinners. A circular saw, miter saw, jig saw, drill, and a Kreg pocket hole jig are all you need to make it.
