For this week, June 23-27, all of my Sketch of the Day concept posts will be benches. Each one will show a similar part shape and angle. At the end of the week, I’ll select the most popular and/or requested Sketch of the Day and create a plan for it.
Today’s concept is an outdoor occasional bench. It could be used as an accent bench on a front porch or deck.

I see this bench project as more of a decor item, perhaps to be used during holidays for displays. It’s of course functional as well, and can seat two. Perhaps it can be a charming spot to sip a drink early in the morning or late in the day.
The Chief’s Shop Porch Bench requires only three pieces of lumber. A miter saw, drill/driver, and Kreg Jig are all you need to complete it.
