Here is another fire pit stool concept similar to the one from yesterday. I’m creating several of these and allowing my oldest son to pick one he wants. He doesn’t know it yet, but he gets to build the one he selects.

The Chief’s Shop Bus Stop Bench is a perfect perch for kids waiting on the bus, or it can simply serve as an outdoor bench, deck bench, or patio bench. This project can be completed in just an hour or two.
Lumber required includes: 2x8s and 2x10s. Overall dimensions: 75 1/2 inches wide x 18 1/2 inches deep x 18 inches high
You’ll need a miter saw, drill driver, and Kreg Jig to build it.

Yes, it looks like a coffee table or a bench, but this concept is meant to be a large ottoman for yesterday’s outdoor sofa. It’s a bit taller than either a coffee table or bench, but just right the right height for propping up your feet when sitting on the sofa.

I came up with this design while thinking of some ideas to use scrap 4 x 4 , 2 x 6, and 2 x 4 I’ll have left over from a project I’m working on now. Both sizes here would work well as seats for outdoor dining.
