Chief
A simple hall table design concept. I used laminated legs to add size and to allow for color contrasting. Click on the image to access a SketchUp file for this concept.

This hall table concept is just 11 1/4 inches deep (the width of a 1×12). It’s certainly an experimental design, as you’ll notice in the video below.

This hall table is an elongated and more shallow version of yesterday’s night stand…without a drawer. I left the back panel in to allow for storage underneath. With that it mind, it could also serve as a buffet or sideboard. #woodworking

It’s a hall table, a console, a buffet – whatever you call it, this concept features a slight Asian-inspired design with the legs and top.

This hall table concept sports an almost tree-like appearance, with the cantilevered posts looking a bit like branches. At least, that’s how I see it.

The function of Chief’s Shop Rustic Buffet is clear by its name, but it also could serve as a hall table or a work table for crafts, homework, etc. You’ll need a miter saw, jig saw, and Kreg Jig to complete it. To maintain a rustic look, intentionally select lumber with a lot of knots and heavy grain patterns.
