Plan of the Week: Crawfish Table #kregjig #woodworking #chiefsshop

The Chief’s Shop Crawfish Table is primarily for those folks in Louisiana and other parts of the south who love their crawfish, but it could also be used by Chesapeake Bay area people who love their crabs. A garbage fits in the center where shells, etc., can be tossed. Assembly requires aKreg Pocket Hole Jig.

Lumber required includes seven 2x4s, five 2x8s, two 4x4s. Overall dimensions: 72 inches wide x 72 inches deep x 30 inches high

You’ll need a miter saw, drill driver and Kreg Jig to build it.

Sketch of the Day: Crab-Crawfish Table #woodworking

This concept would be used for crab picking in the Chesapeake area or a crawfish boil or low-country boil in the South. The center opening is for dumping shells, etc., into a waste bin. Six people can sit comfortably around the table.

Sketch of the Day: Party Table

This concept is from a recent request on my Facebook page. I was asked for a simplified version of a table that could hold containers of ice and drinks in the center.  The center simply features an opening with a slatted bottom where various containers can fit to hold ice, drinks, and refuse from meals of crab, lobster, clams, or crawfish. 

If this were to become a plan, I would want to add a panel for the center that would stay in place when the opening isn’t in use and allow for a continuous table top.
