Plan of the Week: Adirondack-Style Rocker

The Chief’s Shop Work Adirondack-Style Rocker was a Viewers’ Choice Sketch of the Day last December and proved to be popular as a sketch. It’s a bit more complicated than most Plans of the Week, so be prepared for it to take a bit longer. You’ll need a table saw, miter saw, jig saw, drill/driver and the Kreg Jig® to build it.

Plan of the Week: Florida Chair

The  Chief’s Shop Florida Chair was inspired by a couple of different outdoor chairs I saw while on vacation at the beach last summer. It combines some elements of an Adirondack chair with the two designs that caught my eye.

You’ll need a miter saw, jig saw, and a Kreg Jig to complete this project.

Sketch of the Day: Adirondack-Style Rocker

The fourth Viewer’s Choice Sketch of the Day has been requested several times. This Adirondack-style rocker features a slightly curved back and spacious arms. The rockers are neither bent nor cut on a curve on the top side — I designed it this way so if this becomes a project, folks can make it either as a rocker or as a regular chair (the angle of the legs won’t have to change). The back end of the rockers also feature a recurve to reduce the potential for flipping backward.
