Sketch of the Day: Simple Miter Saw Stand #woodworking

My miter saw stand project plan is a bit complicated, so I’ve been wanting to create a much simpler version. This miter saw stand concept is actually three separate pieces. Because most folks have small shops and need space, I created the “wings” of this concept as individual components that could be pulled away and used as a workstation.

Sketch of the Day: Holiday Treat Table #woodworking

A buffet-style table concept with tiered shelves on the end — a design I think would work well for displaying treats during a holiday party.

Plan of the Week: Pirate’s Chest Toy Box #woodworking

The Chief’s Shop Pirate’s Chest Toy Box can be enjoyed by young and old alike. It’s made via very simple construction, even with the curved top. A perfect Christmas present, it can be enjoyed through childhood and still be useful when he or she leaves the nest. Overall dimensions: 32 inches wide x 17 inches deep (at the base) 17 3/4 inches deep (at the lid): 17 13/16 inches high.

You’ll need a table saw, miter saw, jigsaw, drill driver, and Kreg Jig to build it.

Sketch of the Day: Display Tray Table #woodworking

I combined two uses in one with this concept. The top lifts off and can serve as a tray. The tray has feet attached that allow it to be placed on a larger table. These feet also keep it from sliding in any direction when placed on its mating table. Even with the tray removed, the mating table can still be used, as it has an additional inset top.
