Sketch of the Day: Outdoor Seat

I can’t seem to design enough outdoor seating. This one is similar to a bench design I created about this time last year.

Sketch of the Day: Garden Tray

For harvesting the bounty of your garden. The handle is cut from a 1 x 8, with its ends cut like a through tenon in the assembly.

Sketch of the Day: Planter

This planter features a reverse positioning of a bracket I use on a lot of designs. The posts are 2x4s with grooves cut to slide in the side and end boards – no fasteners needed.

Recognize the design? Yep, it’s indeed similar to the rustic series. It measures 21 3/4″ high.

Plan of the Week: Rustic Stool

The Chief’s Shop Rustic Stool is part of a set beginning with the Rustic Bench from last week. This project also can be built from new 1 x 6s or reclaimed 1 x 6 fence pickets. A miter saw, drill/driver and Kreg pocket hole jig are about all you need to build it.

Sketch of the Day: Castle Play Fort

A creative paint job will make the lumber look like stone. The ramp going up is designed to look like a drawbridge.
