Sketch of the Day: Raised Planter

I was thinking ergonomics and Universal Design with this project. At 36″, it’s the height of a typical countertop. Underneath the soil bed area is flashing or galvanized roofing, which would be bent along its centerline to allow for water drainage at one end.

Plan of the Week: Book Stand

Here is a one-board project that requires a bit of jigsaw work and only a couple of rip cuts. The Chief’s Shop Simple Woodworking Book Stand is ideal for supporting cookbooks on a counter, or for displaying a book on a desktop. Plus, there is a storage shelf on the back.
