A design I’m working on for a friend’s yard.
Shop Project: Overhead Lumber Storage Rack
This is made from 1 x 3 and dowel scrap. The horizontal parts are secured to joists using two 3-inch screws (and washers) at each joist junction. The vertical parts are secured using 3 pocket hole screws for each part. A 1-inch dowel bridges the span with 1-2 inches overhang on each side. Drill the holes for the dowels 1 1/4-inch (centerpoint) from the end of the verticals and centered across the width. Drill a hole through each end of the dowels for a 4d nail to act as a pin.
